Base Map
I'm in.
How many people on the board agree? If enough post up here maybe the Mods will make an AEM Tuning section or somthing of the like where we can post maps we made ourselves or ones we had done for us... then if we get enough of them in our "Tune Library" it would make things alot easier and cheaper for those who go turbo in the future as they could find a map close to what they are running and their tuner could use it as a base to start from.
Plus if we have lots of them, we could study them and discuss minor changes that we do ourselves and possibly learn a thing or two about the "black magic" known as tuning the stand alone EMS.
Anyone who reads this who is interested in a section of the site like that and who is willing to post up and share their map if said section was created... post up so we can see how well this idea is accepted!

From what I have read you need to put a serious stop to starting the car before its completely done. Make sure you are ready to go and have a wideband installed or will be going directly to the tuner. How well do you understand AEM and its functions. You should be able to get a base map from your tuner. To get the car there if u are dead set on driving it should be done carefully.Do not worry about boost settings at the moment. Boost control will need to be setup once it gets to the tuner. You can run directly off the wastegate ( pressure line to gate ) so that boost does not increase over spring pressure. This will insure you will not make more than .5 .7 psi ( what spring do you have). If you have a wideband on the car you should be able to watch ur air/fuel from the basemap giving to you. You can then target the cell you are in @ map pressure/Rpm. I would not worry about the top end of the map, as you will not be getting into boost. You can trim fuel a couple ways, but this is only if you have a pretty decent idea of how the system works. Best bet would be to get the car ready to start and call your tuner. If he is a quality tuner he should be able to send you something to get the car started and then walk you through steps to ensure you are ok to get the car there.

I wouldn't be starting the car on the OEM ECU...
