Default Basemap for Kraftwerks using KTuner?

Folks,

I have a KTuner, and will be installing my Kraftwerks C38-92 kit soon. The KTuner comes with 2 generic "forced induction" maps, but I was wondering if anyone out there had a bit better base map to start with to help my tuner out?

Thanks!

If your tuner can’t make you a base map find a new tuner.

If it fires up fine on those base maps, idles well and you can limp around @ low load, low speed fine, then:

- Check your fuel trims to make sure fueling isn’t WAY off
- Then pull 10 degrees in hi&lo cam maps in all of your cells except for idle area.
- You can also set the whole map to 10 degrees and limp to the tuner that way.
- Also make sure knock sensor is enabled as I’ve seen it unchecked in some base maps

Now, if you don’t know anything about tuning, get your tuner to do that for you. Or get it towed if he/she won’t help you. Don’t do it yourself.

good luck!

Sure. Just don’t forget that it doesn’t matter what your ECU/EMS is telling you for ignition timing. You need to confirm it with a timing light once it’s idling otherwise whatever you plug into the ignition maps could be completely wrong.

If you set 10 degrees across the whole table, you might assume that’s safe but if you didn’t sync the ignition/spark event... it might actually be 40 degrees so way over advanced. Dangerous. Have your tuner help sync it or once again have it towed there.

also took me a bit of searching and head ace to find the info. when you go to confirm the timing is synced with the ecu with a timing light there is a wire loom factory zip tied between the fuel rail and fire wall with like a plastic sheath over it. pull the plastic wrap back off the 3 wires and hook your timing light upto that. loop all 3 wires in it, it wont read through the plastic you have to pull it back far enough to expose the wires. also thats a good pickup for the dyno as getting a reading from the coil wires is damn near impossible, just a good tidbit of info if your tuner isnt well versed in s2000's

@EOE My car is a 2007, I am using a stock ECU with a KTuner. Is this still necessary, or is it only an aftermarket ECU thing?
