Default Best AFR to achieve whilst in boost

Hi guys...

What's are your thoughts of the best AFR to run with a 18psi charger through the revs?

Thank you!

John

I believe a pretty widely accepted range is 10.5-11.5:1. If you're the type who errs on the side of caution then you can aim for the lower side of that range. a few guys running lower boost safely aim a bit higher (low 12's), but with 18 pounds I would probably shoot for around 11.

These values are for a pre-cat wideband (not the tailpipe sniffer kind) and remember that every wideband can measure slightly different values.

I don't think it matters what fuel you are using. You can run 11.5-11.8 safely with any fuel. Don't worry about leaning it out to make power cause you won't. You can run 11.0 vs 11.8 and you won't gain but more than 2-3 HP. Some will tell you that E85 can run leaner but why risk it? Just my opinion.

Hey, I'm running with no cat. Using the berk 3" header back... So this is classed as pre cat all the way right?

Many thanks
