Default Best Turbo to Swap In

Hey guys,

I'm currently looking to swap the Precision 6765 out of my car in favor of something smaller. My car has a 2.5L stroked motor built by inline pro, and was built for boosted applications. It was tuned to make around 530whp and 330wtq, but after blowing a transmission earlier this year, I've opted to run a more realistic and reliable DD setup.

With that said, what turbo options do I have? I don't really want to run anymore than 440-450whp, so I'd like to run a smaller turbo that will spool faster, and make for a better street car. From everything I've read, the 5857 would be great for my goals, but what all would be involved in swapping the turbos?

Also, the 6765 has just over 3000 miles on it, so if anyone would be interested in taking it off my hands, let me know.

Aidan

6265 Would be a very good choice for that motor.

Why do you say that? I'm definitely not disputing it, but would love to get a little more info.

For your power goals a 5857 or a gt30r would be a good fit. Will need to see pics of your setup or explaination of it for help in what is involved to switch.

I talked to InlinePro, but they weren't really able to help me that much,
big surprise.

Ive gotten a chance to tune both turbos. The 5857 turbo spools about 200 rpm before a 6262 ,but you will be limited with higher boost. The 6262 is a perfect turbo for the s2k. The problem is that the s2k motor is so efficient that when you run a small turbo or housing, it really chokes the motor up top. You have a built 2.5L , that is why I would stick a 6265 or a 6262 on it.

How much faster would a 6262 or 5857 spool as compared to my 6765? Also, it would need to be in a T4 application, so I don't know if that makes any difference in my choices.

I'm just finalizing my order with Fullblown right now, but I wanted to double check that I wouldn't have any compatibility issues.

To clarify, I'm looking for a billet 5857 with a t4 hot and a ported s-cover for the compressor?
