Default Boost for my race car

Looking for advice from you forced induction guys. My race car engine went kaput. It was a built 2.3l NA engine from reputable builder. Now I have the dilemma of rebuilding the same thing or going boosted. I want more power than I had ( 230rwhp) I'm looking for more like 300-325. More importantly it needs to be a reliable low maintenance engine. Fortunately I have a back oem 2.2l, Kpro, Js racing header/exhaust and an intake. I live in TX so the summers are pretty hot. Keeping it cool will be very important. I realize 325 is pretty easy to make , it's the reliability and ease of use that are most important.

Most turbo and SC kits could easily reach that. A SC with a front mount heat exchanger would probably be more reliable and defiantly run cooler than a turbo. But the SC would probably weight more especially in the front and wouldn't have the power for as wide as an RPM range.

To run in ST2 with NASA all I can really make is about 280hp. Sounds easy enuf. But what would be the best method.

no way the super charger weighs more than a turbo set up

Sos sc w sc equivalent of a wastegate so you can run a smallish pulley and bleed off boost to limit power

Agreed. The 928 Motorsports boost limiter valve should do just that. (I'll find out Monday...)

Or you could go with a roots blower. The SOT MP62 kit sounds like a potential solution.

would you change any of the internals for reliabilty? since 280hp is all i can make is there a particular S/C that makes it sooner and therefore longer for a more broadband of power?

I love my greddy kit at the track. LOADS of low end and midrange power. Instant spool up too.

I was going to suggest kraftwerks for low end response, but no one has done it w so little power, I think youd have to get a custom pulley or bleed off boost.

As long as everything is getting good, not super heated oil, internals should be fine
