Juan, are you talking about the peak reading that the boost gauge records? I have the Defi and on my last dyno run where I did 502 whp, the gauge read 17.7 psi from the recorded peak reading. But the datalog from the AEM showed that that was just an initial boost spike. The Apexi AVC-R boost controller immediately brought it down to a little over 16 psi, which is where the max HP was recorded.

While I was doing the street tuning, the gauge showed 10 psi and the AEM was recording 7.5 psi.
I installed as the instruccions said.
Will try to look for another source

I always like to have the boost-only source to the wastegate straight from the compressor, or the intercooler pipe before the intercooler, so that by the time that the wastegate reacts, some of the surging has settled down by time the charge hits the throttle.
Sounds like you've got a faulty gauge. Those gauges are simply spring loaded and the spring is displaced linearly to show boost. It could just be a bad spring in there and a manufacturing defect. I've seen bad springs not perform, just exchange it.

To utilize what the spring is actually rated for and so the engine sees the same psi as what the wastegate is working at, you need to take the reading from the manifold.

Juan,
That's exactly the way mine is hooked up. I would suggest sending the gauge back. There may be something wrong with it.
If that doesn't fix the problem, at least you have eliminated one possibility.

If thats a Defi D-gauge, its now discontinued for the problem that your having now. Its not accurate. They are working on a replacement now, but no set date for release. I know because the shop I work at deals direct with Defi/Tein and I talked to a rep. about it before.
