sorry this is kind of off topic, but is the comptech fpr a rising rate regulator like the vortech FMU? if so, is it calibrated at 12:1 fuel to boost ratio like most are? thanks.

The whole thing with the BOV spring is that you want to make sure it's venting at idle and at cruising. If your spring is too tight you will not hear it "blow off" at high RPM shifts. This is not good. You need to soften the setting so it will allow the vacuum and the boost to blow off.
Once you get it to where you can hear it at cruising speed, as soon as you get on the throttle you should hear it close with a quick "shwwwwip" sound, when you release throttle it will open and make the constant "shurrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound.
