Brant at BRP has had serious problems over-promising and under-delivering on both his Miata and S2000 products.

I put a $1500 deposit on a "beta" S2000 kit last spring. I was scheduled for an April 23 install at his shop in South Carolina. We rescheduled for mid-May so the "kit would be ready for sure". Now it's October and the kit appears to be farther from ready than it was back in May.

I bailed out in late May and forfeited $250 on my deposit. At this point I feel like I was ripped off--I wouldn't begrudge the $250 if the kit had actually gotten into production, but losing $$ on a deposit for a product that never actually existed doesn't seem right.

As for the Miata blowers, they are having serious and unresolved issues with the fuel management, which was billed by BRP last spring as having excellent drivability.

At this point I would advise anyone considering their products not to get too stoked by what they say, and wait to see what they do.
I think if you called James at Barker (BRP) and discussed this with him he would probably talk to Barker about getting your remaining $250 back.

I have to remain positive about the whole thing for a bit longer as they still have my money. I do feel a bit more positive now considering Barker has taken ownership of BRP and I think most of the recent delay was related to some financial issues Brant at BRP got into.

Regarding fuel management - there are option other than the ELF if they are still have issues with it.

damn - I could have written just about the same story....... think I was in the top 5 for Beta test. Just took my lumps when I bailed. You going to attempt a much delayed recovery of your forfeited coin?

A very close friend of mine has driven Brant's SC'd S2000 (the BRP prototype) and told me it was pretty incredible. I track with him regularly and he's driven plenty of fast cars so if he said it was good I tend to believe him.

I think the S2000 kit production issues have a lot more to do with BRP's recent financial troubles and a back-log of orders than a "lack of ability to produce a working PD SC kit".

Even after Barker Products bought them, they still apparantly have a huge hole to dig out of and it will take some time. I bought a BRP kit for my wife's Miata earlier this year and they have not yet had time to fix that kit for me (defective engine mgmt).

Bottom line.....I suspect it will still be quite a while before the S2000 kit is ready.

I have faith that their kit will be released, but it will take time for them to get it right. After owning my BRP supercharged miata, I know it will be worth the wait, I had absolutely no issues with my kit, it was 100% trouble free fun. However, my fuel mangagement was the JR powercard, not ELF (I hope they get the problems with this resolved for the above poster).

I have a '06 S, my wait will be even longer than most of the posters here. Again, I know this kit will be worth the delay.

This is the type of post I like to see on this tread

I may be delusional (and am probably in some state of self-denial) but I don't care about the schedule set backs... Or the problems that they are taking the time to fix before they release the bolt on to the public.

All the "it'll never happen" stuff is could turn out to be true ...
And maybe someone should start the thread - [crazytalk] BRP is controlled by space aliens and is brain washing innocent S2000 owners[/crazytalk]...

but I'm more intrested in updates (which are far to few and far between) and talk about the mechanics of a root blower system....

Kepp the positive stuff coming
I'm with you.

Lets bring this thread back to it's glory pages when it was techincal and hopefull. I'm just as guilty as everyone else for being impatient with the kits progress.

Does anyone truly know what is the mechanical issue holding up progress? Weak blower mounting? Throttle body issues? Engine management? Or is it all on the business side now?
