Default BW EFR 7670 and E-85

Okay sorry please bear with me as this is my first turbo build. I've been searching for hours and can't find the info I'm looking for. So I bought the Borg Warner EFR 7670 t3 internal wg and bov, kind of a compulsive buy but I figured it'd get the job done. I also bought the full-Race Forward Mount T3 EFR IWG Turbo Manifold with a precision 600hp intercooler. I have all the engine management (AEM EMS v2) and rc 550 injectors(id1000's just ordered) and a walbro 255. But my tuner insists I set it up on E-85, there's like 5 gas stations with in 100 miles that sell it tho so its not exactly convenient. But is this worth the extra hassle over 93 octane which is available everywhere? I get the main benefits of e-85 but are the numbers going to be that much different that I need to go buy all this extra stuff for it? He claims he can run more reliable boost? what does that mean? what should I expect Hp wise without E-85 and with it cause I really have no clue at all what to expect? Kind of hoping someone has a similar setup cause I cant find any builds similar unless I'm looking in the wrong places? (saw 1 on youtube but with no numbers)
thanks again, sorry if some of this information is in other treads, feel free to post links to them if there is!
Any input is appreciated!

Since you have series 2 you can set up flex fuel and use a electronic boost controller and vary the boost between the 93 and e85 maps.

Get a walbro 450lph e85 fuel pump and it should work well with your id1000's

What type of boost controller would you recommend? any specific brands?

i think the real question is how much power do u want, if ur happy with 500 and below stick with pump gas, if u desire more make the switch to e85

Granted, I have a built 2.4 motor (limited to 7500) on top of the 7670 IWG, but here's what I was able to get. 402whp and 360 ft/lbs on 91 octane with a walbro 255. I had a return fuel conversion done with an AEM 320 E85 pump and FID 1300s and was able to crank out 475whp and 429 ft/lbs on E85. Tuning was cut short due to coolant issues so there's probably more to be had but those were the results after about 5 pulls

d-bo I agree.
Op, I would suggest the AEM tru boost controller. It may be a little pricey, but it's very user friendly and should work flawlessly with your AEM v2.

This is solid advice.

Op, another important question we should ask you is what do you intend to do with the car? Daily cruiser? Circuit racing? or just looking for the most power you can get out of pump gas? Depending upon your answer that can also play a deciding factor on whether e85 is beneficial or not.

It's a summer car I live in Michigan:/ I basically daily drive in the summer , so I guess the best way to put it Is that it's a street application that will see the track on occasion and your typical freeway pulls. To be honest I kinda hyped it up to some friends who drive STI's so I'm kinda looking for a number that for sure doesn't leave them with any chance cause all they
do is hate on my s2k:/ but if that can't happen I could care less I guess my goal is 450 but I'd be happy with anything above or below that. But If e-85 is going to be less stress and less heat created I wouldn't be opposed to switching to it down the road? Or if I'm going to do it should I just go all out at once?

450 is entirely doable on pump. If you dont have e85 anywhere close to you, it's not worth it imo. You would need to buy a big external tank to hold it in at your house, then go fill up with like 50 gallons and then make those trips whenever you run out. PITA. Not to mention, e85 gets like 75% the mpg of pump?

Timing can be advanced a lot more on e85 which is what your tuner means by a safer tune, theres a bigger margin of error. But any tuner worth his salt should be able to get 450 out of 93 octane on a good turbo set up

I daily with E85 and love it. I get about 140-150miles per 10 gallon. No black soot in the rear. E85 runs clean. No bad exhaust smell from no cat. Actually smells alcohol sweet. Power is there whenever you need it. Once you try it,you'll never want to run regular gas.

Recommend you go with the ID1300's if you want to daily E85 600whp.
