Default CAI for your Vortech

I decided to do this mod as I already had the ducting and inlet horn lying around, plus a cooler intake charge even by a few degrees is better than none. You will have to relocate your aftercooler reservoir to where the airpump is. Since I removed mine awhile back it was only a matter of re-routing the aftercooler hoses. Keep in mind I have EMS which does not use the airpump. You'll throw a CEL of you remove it and run a stock ECU. I was going to mount the inlet horn directly behind the grille, but I ran into fitmet problems with the horn and ducting. Besides, there's no need to have a ram air effect as the SC does that for you.

Aftercooler reservoir relocated to the driver's side

You'll need to flip the aftercooler pump 180 degrees so the inlet/outlet face the reservoir.

Ducting in place. The end of the duct will direct fresh air directly into the Vortech airbox

Inlet side. My splash shield was already cut from the days I was NA w/ the AEM CAI.

This will only work for EMS users, as taking out the airpump isn't an option for a Stock PCM car.

Since the Vortech has an intercooler, I wonder how much reduction in intake air temps this will accomplish?

Where did you get that black box that you have mounted on the splash guard?

Remember the discharge of the coolant pump needs to be kept upright...

Looks like a nice neat mod though.
