Default CEL throwing w/vortech S/C between shifts

The CEL is blinking either around 8800rpm on 4th-5th-6th gear or right after shifting at 9000rpm on 4-5th and 5-6th.

BUT it only blinks like 3-4 sec and goes away.
It does not happan at lower gears when rpm rises pretty fast.

1.Can I still get DTC code even though CEL light does not stay ON?
I remember there is a chart that tells you what is wrong with how CEL blinks.
But I had no luck with searching on s2k...

2.Considering my prev post, I have a strong feeling that I'm running rich.
Maybe this is a problem?
exhaust fire!

3.Maybe my S/C belt is slipping?(dammit I really need boost gauge ASAP)
Vortex says tension it until u can turn 1/4 twist. is this mean 90 degree? or 45 degree??

It is misfiring, and the DTC's or codes are still stored. A loose SC belt won't cause it, just low boost.

BTW, where are you going at 140MPH?

ah ic I should go check my DTC codes...
What could cause misfiring at high rpm?
I have put new spark plugs at the time of installation.
I didnt re-gap the plugs since they were pregapped.
Maybe this is the cause of misfire at high rpm?

btw
There are many empty highways like Autobahn here.

You are confusing a blinking CEL with "blink codes". Blink codes are what you get when you count the CEL blink after you jump pins on the diagnostic port. Your CEL blink is NOT telling you codes. It is only telling you that something is wrong.

Vortex says tension it until u can turn 1/4 twist. is this mean 90 degree? or 45 degree??
1 FULL twist is 360 degrees, therefore, 1/4 twist would be 90 degrees. Like Slow said, a loose belt is not your problem.

Lots of things can cause this, but Honda just issued a TSB for the MAP sensor when hesitation is felt on hard acceleration in the upper rpm range. You should check into this. It could be an easy fix.

I didnt re-gap the plugs since they were pregapped.
"Pre-gapped" does NOT mean "correct" gap for your application. You always need to check plug gap before installing into an engine. For F.I. you should be going with a much smaller gap than for stock. Too big a gap in a F.I. application "could" also cause a misfire. That's why people narrow the gap when putting in F.I.

Thank you so much for advise slows2k and xviper!!
Since there is really no one that knows much about s2k and being only F.Ied Honda/Acura car in Korea, s2k.com is only place I can ask questions for.
I really apprecaite your help.

Anywayz...xviper do you know by any chance where I can view MAP TSB?
or new part # for MAP?

TIA

The MAP TSB was first brought to our attention here:

In Korea, your reference numbers will most likely be different.

Most of the Autobahn I've been on is so crowded you can't even use cruise control most of the time! Although you still get to drive pretty damn fast! Glad to here South Korea has nice empty highways. I'll be spending my whole summer there.
