The only true "cheap kit" is a used quality kit IMO

I also want to know if I could run it without having the car tuned. Just wanting educated on this. Thanks!

^This is good advice. You'll get a push in your back whenever you want, it's reasonably easy to install, and it's the highest hp/$ you can get.

If you have to use the word "cheap" to do anything for this car, sell it and get a mustang. "Cheap" options end up costing you alot more in the end and cheap is not reliable. A bus pass is cheap.

It's a gamble. If you plan on buying a used turbo, plan on having it rebuilt...I don't care what the seller says.

Although there is nothing wrong with used turbo parts (as long as the seller is honest and you ask the right questions / pictures) dont let that deter you from finding deals in the FI classifieds.

After recently finishing my own car (its turbo) three words resonated very loudly. (CHEAP, FAST, and RELIABLE).... you can unfortunately only pick 2):
-if you want it fast and cheap, its not going to be reliable.
-if you want it fast and reliable, its not going to be cheap.
-if you want it cheap and reliable, its not going to be fast (depending on what your definition of "fast" is). (you see where i'm going with this)

The next time you are tempted to buy a CHEAP kit, look up the price of replacement engines and how much it costs to have a mechanic change it out for you (unless you can do it yourself). F series engines are not cheap by any means and are most certainly not worth blowing up using no name branded kit.

If you MUST turbocharge the car, the greddy turbo kit is relatively inexpensive and can give you the power increases of most introductory kits if you can find a used one in decent condition. Knowing how much power F series engines can make with good quality kits, trust me its worth the wait to do everything correctly the first time.

Im in KS and have a SOS bought name brand Walbro 255. Roughly 8-10k on it. Ran like a top. We should get a list going for a budget build for this guy.

Sadly thats all i can spare tho. Although I could pack it in heat wrap and other heat shielding goodies. Steel zip ties. (Pump would be in a ziplock bag of course)

just pay shipping. I think i paid more in all the heat management, fire hose, covers, lining, and wrap then that kit lol. Seems cheap until you gotta get all the odd end stuff to keep everything else from melting and staying reliable. I also have a slightly used t4 turbo blanket im swapping out soon. Better then nothing.
