Hi guys,Im keen to hear your experiences with clutches capable of holding 4-500ft lbs range. I have done a couple of searches and there are many options, but keen to hear your real world experiences...Im looking for one for a track car. Cheers!
Are we talking about 475 hp or lbft of torque. An s2K making 475lbft would be a 650-750 hp car and I highly doubt the ACT 6 puck clutch will hold that much torque for any type of resonable time. I have a Tilton triple on my Supra and it has been through alot of track time and a few nights at test and tune drag events and have never had an issue.
Why risk it? Use a twin disc. It has smooth engagement, and is meant to handle the amount of torque, and racing you will be doing. Any single disc clutch will be ruined in a shorter time with that much torque. There is a difference between making the power initially, and actually using that power for any decent amount of time.
