They have with their new plate apparently. I would stick with either the CC stage 2 or Act for driveability. The puck clutches are for serious power and torque but as DeadZero says, they are horrible to use for a daily driver!

Hmmmmn I have the CC Stage 4 and I think it's fine. Does require a bit of finesse to pull it off though. Just drove the car after it being down for 4 months and it's pretty jerky.....need to relearn it.

I don't know if you are aware, however, we now have the ScienceofSpeed Billet Twin Carbon Clutch available here:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=738009

In my experience, any of the clutches including ones from Competition Clutch and ACT that use discs with multiple pucks with really high coefficient of friction liners are an absolute bear to drive on the street. They are fine for use in a race car, but if you plan on driving your car on the street, these are not an ideal solution.

The new billet twin takes advantage of the special carbon-carbon material to provide high holding power (static friction) but relatively smooth engagement (kinetic friction). It makes the perfect high horsepower yet streetable and drivable clutch available. This clutch IS NOT the same as Carbonetics and Exedy clutch that mesh carbon to steeel. You can read a little more about that in the discussion above.

Now, if you're at 400 whp or less, we designed the ScienceofSpeed Sport Clutch for you. Check it out here:
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/dri...d/Sport_Clutch/

This clutch is only $565.00 + bearings, so it's much less than ACT and comparable to Competition Clutch - but made with much higher quality components.

Cheers,
-- Chris

Well I just purchased a CC Stage 5 sprung 4 puck with 11lbs flywheel. I was assured this clutch overall was not a nightmare. I have come from driving the FX400 from Clutchmasters and a J's Racing Hyper Single. I will be really interested to see how drivable this clutch really is. If this does not work out twin disc may be the only route. Power wise I am hoping this holds into the upper 500whp range and into the low 400's torque wise.

Yeah I can see that. Honestly this might be a improvement because before this, I was running 50mm ITBS. That alone made throttle modulation nearly impossible so if I was able to drive that car smoothly, I figure this will just take a little practice.
