There is nothing wrong with his setup. A puck clutch just plain sucks for a daily driver. It is awful trying to roll out of first gear unless you are really paying attention. It buzzes like crazy and chatters if you do not have the revs right out if first gear. It is also hard on the driveline IMO.

With that said it does hold the power but to me it sacrifices driveability. I drove the car for a thousand miles with this setup and you do start to get used to it, but you can forget letting anyone else drive your car, they will not know how to do it.
Yea even experienced ppl with ss driving kill my car... repeatedly. I wanna change my setup tho to accommodate them. The guy I bought it from said that I have a stage II clutch/lightened flywheel with a racing throwout bearing. Its a off/on feeling with the clutch and about a dimes thickness im-between off/on. I'm not trying to hijack, but any suggestions? Rebuilding the engine right now and thinking the smart thing to do right now while the car is in pieces.

If I had the engine out I'd definitely be replacing the clutch. What with is the question?

i drove a act 4 puck with HD PP and honestly it wasn't that bad, yea, way different from stock, but it was my first time driving an aftermarket clutch and i didn't stall once

spending $2,000 for a twin disc seems like overkill when a CC stage 4 is about $550 shipped, but when i get my CC in, we'll see how i feel then

After trying to drive puck clutches on the street, I can assure you the cost is worth the benefit. There's no sense in adding big power to your car, and then taking the joy out of driving it because the clutch is a pain. Not to mention, with out having to aggressively slip and burn out the clutch from standing starts, your long term cost will be less regardless.

We have one of these clutches left on our promotion:

Well my power goals are only 350 400 whp. a stage 2 competition clutch? how would going back to a stock flywheel affect driveability? if i could even do that.

For that power range, I suggest this clutch:

Compared to the Competition Clutch, it has a stock like pedal feel, much smoother engagement, and quality components from Japan. For not much more, you get a much higher quality and easier to drive clutch.

No real reason to go with a lightened flywheel if you are trying to get some decent tq.

I have had 2 CCstage 4 on 2 different s2000's. I liked the first clutch better than the current one because the current one is more noisy. I do not know why its noisier, its correctly mounted and works the way it should. Enaggement is a pain sometimes, have to plan the driving more carefully with these clutches. Trying to avoid stop and go's as much as possible. Its good for regular road driving but worse for heavy traffic city driving ofcourse.
