Thumbs down is this common knowlege, broken cooling system, or

So I got this pretty kick ass Autometer Digital Water Temp gauge. I went to Home depot and made a pretty kick ass In line adapter with a few pipe fittings. So I bypassed the throttle body a while ago so I have one hose going from the Throttle body/IACV area to the area where the coolant bleed bolt is on the intake.

So I used some clear Heater hose and there is no coolant running through there? The temperature guage reads around 100-120 when at idle then when I start to drive for 5 minutes the temp goes up to where it should, 180-190F, is this because the coolant is heating up, or is the coolant only flowing through that area when I am driving?

Am I an idiot?

If there is no coolant in there then there is air in there. And if you've properly bled the system (ie. You saw coolant in there when you finished) and gone for a drive and now there is air in there..... Head gasket.

As for your last question, I don't have an opinion on that.

Do you have a Hondata or Ebay intake gasket?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. If you did, there wouldn't be coolant in there like before.

Common sign of air in the system. Rebleed the system. There should always be hot coolant going to your throttlebody (it's where my water temp gauge is hooked up as well and I don't get any huge fluctutations like that)
