I have a comp twin in my car.

First off, for those who say the pedal feel is like stock, I want whatever herb you're smoking. The pedal is certainly heavier than stock, and requires a bit more modulation to be driven smoothly. There certainly isn't the margin for error you will have with a stock/single clutch. The weight of the pedal doesn't bother me, but it would get old quick in serious stop and go traffic (and you'll have a beast left calf). It's not NEARLY as bad as some of the pucked options out there, as far as engagement/drivetrain shock, but this is still a serious serious clutch.

Next, The noises:
This clutch is not quiet by any means. There is a good amount of chatter when you have the clutch depressed. As with any twin/triple, when the clutch is disengaged , all the plates are free to bounce off one another, and causes some noise. The noise isn't terrible by any means, but it's certainly loud enough for "know it alls" to make it a point to tell me something is wrong with my vehicle when I pull into local shows/meets, so you can def hear it from the outside, as well as inside the cabin. Due to the weight of the pressure plate I never sit with my foot on the pedal but when it is in fact depressed/mid shift I can hear it clearly.

In addition to the chatter. I also get a high pitch squeak/squeal in 1st gear/quick shifts. I am on my second batch of discs that are still very new, and have heard from a few others that this noise goes away, and while it has a bit in the 3500 or so miles I've got on these discs, my older worn discs, didn't have do it.

Next, lets talk about longevity.

This clutch will NOT last as long as your OE styled clutch. As mentioned previous, I am already on my second set of discs. Do not expect to toss this clutch in your car and get 30,000 miles out of it, you WILL be replacing discs.

The nice part about that, is that the discs are fairly cheap (roughly 125 per disc) and the entire clutch is serviceable.

Which............

leads me to possibly what I consider the best part about owning this clutch. THE SERVICE.

The guys at comp are top notch , and great to work with. They helped me out a ton when sending the whole unit in for repairs. They assessed the whole kit, gave me a quote on what I needed ( I needed a newer style top hat and center disc, in addition to the actual friction discs, as well as a new bearing) and had the kit back to me in a timely manner. Hell, they even cut the flywheel again for free!

Hopefully this should give a decent viewpoint on what you're looking for. Overall, I love the clutch, and it has done its job for me. I am not in even in slightest bit worried about going for my racegas tune and shooting for 700whp this spring, this clutch will hold it no problem

Thanks for a very good review. It's sounds close to what I would expect it to be. Appr. how long did your clutch last (of course I know this will vary very from how it's used etc.)?

To be honest man, I wish I could give you a good answer there.

I bought the clutch used originally, and it had a decent amount of life left, I got about 3500 miles out of those discs ( I think the original owner did some work on it)

Now I have about 4-5000 miles on the new discs.

While working with Comp, they advised me that they recently changed the Kit for the F series cars ( they used to sell the same thing for K/F)

the original Discs measured out to 200 thou new, and were considered ready for replacement somewhere around 160-170.

They now offer a thicker disc for the F series (the K series trannys just don't have the room) which measures out to 250 thou, so that's a good deal more life when multiplied across 2 discs.

Ill be happy to get 10,000 miles outta a set of discs. It kinda sucks but you've gotta pay to play

That is a great, unbiased, and detailed review. Thanks for taking the time to post that. That helps plenty with my decision.

Is there any twin disc clutch that does not chatter when the clutch is depressed?

I wonder which twin disc is the quietest, easiest to drive, and has the highest longevity. The price is similar on all of them. Competition, Clutch Masters, or SOS.

I just want to throw this out there. The cc stage 4 is a huge pain in the balls to use in this car. It is litteraly an on/off switch. At the same time, I had a cc stage 4 in my boosted fg2 and it was easy to use on the street for whatever reason. My friend had the stage 4 in his s2k and it held 772whp. Also, all twin discs don't make noise. The twin disc in my dads 08 viper was quiet from what I recall. That being said, if I ever boost an s2k, I will deff keep this clutch in mind along with the SOS twin disk

I can only speak for the Comp twin. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say. This clutch is a breeze to drive for what it is/capable of. But its no Stock clutch , that's for sure.
