compound turbos
wow the Saturn build is crazy the compounds work great on a diesel but it would be hard to package and tune plus on diesels you don't have detonation issue still have to watch preignition the best way I can describe the compound's on my truck its like having a window seat on a 747 on takeoff it puts you in the seat and the big turbo lighting is like a turbine engine feels like something's gonna break think 12's in a 6600 lbs truck maybe I should throw my cummins in my s and run 7's
Do I think a compound turbo set up would be cool? Of course, but would I be willing to pay for the "cool" factor, definitely not. Although, there is something to be said about different set ups.
This is a twin charged WRX running a turbo feeding a roots blower. Red is turbo alone, blue is turbo feeding the blower. At a certain psi, the blower is bypassed and the turbo is the only thing feeding the system psi. Thats where you see the tq curve fall. In the end, they both make the same HP and TQ, but @ 3300 rpm the twin charged system makes double the hp and tq.

Not the same set up, I know, but looking at that graph, one looks more fun than the other. Now, the cost to do that, I do not know, and probably don't want to.
***Not my car. Just found this while perusing the internet.
