Comptech SC VS Vortech SC
Nole99, you must be a king for 10sec and a a$$ for your life time.to grill the internals of a s2000 is haram!!!and whats the fcuking point of comparing nitro with normal fuel?it's like some of you (U.S. dudes) want to compare 5.7L engines with our 2.0L
And anyway, a drag race is about how mush $ you put under your hood, not about driving skill (if you did not smoke your self retarded on the stick)
go on a motocross track with a mustang or supra that kill a 1/4 mile under 10s and try to beat a stock s2000. You will look like gozilla. our S is the fastest 2.0 NON turbo, so take it as it is.nitro or non-nitro, you can't beat a higher class car like GTR or Supra even when they drive along with a hand brake, so ONE MORE time:One is the point of grilling with NOS????

motocross = track race build up temporary on a big parking. we have only drag and motocross in the u.a.e.
so i will be already ordering pizza and watching the u.s. drag queens doing there thing in corners. but anyway, what is the pricing of a 4.7 gearbox???and has anyone lowered the compression and increased the boost by changing the pulley on a Vortech kit?
thanx 4 any info
allI wanted to say, is that drag is about $ under the hood, and thats a fcuking fact. what will a mustang with 700HP hepl you if you try to follow me on a roundabout and I'll watch you in my mirror flying away like superman???

I think he's referring to autocross (which may well be called motocross in the U.A.E.)
Adding an SC won't help too much in autocross, but can take a second off your 1/4 mile.
You can increase the boost quite a bit by changing the pulley on a Vortech. There are a couple of people on the site who've done it. The more boost you add however, the stronger your motor needs to be. Any more than 9lbs really should be accompanied by a stronger engine build. The rear diff should also be reinforced at higher boost as it's often the weak link of our drive train.
Regardless of boost, the SC develops most of its power in the high RPM range so it just makes VTEC that much more fun. If you want low end power/torque for autocrossing or jumping off the line, a turbo is the better, albeit more complicated, way to go.
Between Vortech and Comptech... I'd go Vortech every time. A great design and more bang for your buck. (They don't charge extra for the intercooler, but the install's a bit harder.)
Hope this helps...

It's amazing what you can learn on these boards and hanging around the race track.
I'm also fortunate enough to live in the state where both Vortech and Comptech are located, so I've had the chance to visit both and talk fairly extensively with them about their products.
I've learned a lot, but I'm no expert. Just another guy with a need for speed...

Sure it does, thanx drewchie!
As I was reading a report about the supercharged silver s2000 in some magazine, and they where reporting only a 0.1sec cut off the 60mil/h, I was thinkin' about the purpose of the supercharger.
Some guys are telling that the real gains are coming after 110mil/h, but all the races I am having are already over somewhere around 130mil/h not to kill someone or kill your self. A local supra owner told me that a supercharged S is kicking a EVO "soo baaad", but I have never seen shooting something of the traffic light as an EVO does.
So when can I kick his ass, after he has reached the levels of aerodinamics and we took already 3 pictures from the radar? I am thinking about the s/c only because that BOV sound, but I'll better record it in a Supra and play it high volume while I'm driving
)
Can anyone tell me what would be the right gear box if am not running faster than 220km/h (140mil/h) but still looking for the fast 25-100mil/h kicks? I am changing the clutch anyway, I;ve got the following quota: ACT clutch. Heavy Duty Pressure Plate w/ Hybrid Street Disc
Kit $681.85
Is it the right clutch for street use and am I oayn way too much for it? I want to change all the part in the drive train in one week, so what else is possible for a reasonable price? And what pistons are good to hold 12psi of boooost? Can I add a picture on the left side evn if I am just a owner and guest? If so, hoooow? And finally, if I wan't to go turbo, what is THE kit to go?
