If I was going to install a SC, I promise you, I would go ahead and do that, even if not "required". I realize some people have gotten 50,000+ miles out of a comptech s/c car, but I would just feel better running our 93 octane on 10.5 compression

People have tried a copper head gasket. Problem is none of the sealants work well and after a while they leak.

No, no inside deals. Of course, that's not to say I won't try to get a deal on the mythical upgrade from them (being as my car is loaded with their parts, anyway)...

I do this strictly as a hobby (an expensive one). I've got no sponsors, no parents footing the bills, and I've installed most of the goods myself. I'm fairly vocal about the parts on the car, why I did what I did, and my opinions about certain things - I mean no offense by it, it's just that I enjoy the car tremendously (even more than the E46 M3 it replaced) and that enthusiasm for it and "tinkering" with it is fairly evident when I start posting.

For what its worth, here's the latest from Mike B at Comptech regarding the aftercooler.

Not much new, and he didn't confirm any of the rumors we've heard, so take it for what its worth.

I filled out Vortech's warranty sheet and mailed it, two weeks later they replied back that the S2000 Vortech kit is only warrantied for 1 year only, since it is a import car. So there is NO 3 year warranty on anything from Vortech. Call and check your selves.

I asked when I bought mine and they did say three years, I guess we'll see. I read the warranty completely and I don't see a disclaimer in there on imports, maybe I should re-read!!!

I JUST READ WARRANTY... and 1 of three things happened for you to only get one year warranty. It specifically states that if you send your reciept and warranty registration within 30 days then the 3 year warranty applies. If your late; beyond 30 days with this requirement you only get one year. Now, the 2nd way to only get a year is to buy a supercharger only (no complete kit). The third way is if this S/C is an "extended drive" unit, which I don't think it is?? Other than these three things happening, I am confident of my three year warranty. Please scan a copy of your letter they sent you and post, so I can have my attorney check it out. This was one of the reasons I purchased it. PT

Are the stock tires enough to handle the power of a Supercharger or should one go and buy "stickier" tires? How about brakes? Just curious....
