Comptech Supercharger Questions

As BlownAP pointed out, you can beat plenty of Vettes with modest mods, but there are always going to be quicker and/or faster cars around. Have you considered autocrossing? I beat quicker and faster cars every month, often by a wide margin.
With any form of boost we're limited to a maximum of about 320 WHP (probably about 370 HP at the crank) because at around 320 WHP our stock injectors can't flow enough fuel; To get more you have to go with larger injectors, and that means you'll need a stand alone ECU and tuning. The stock driveline, clutch, diff, etc., are all up to handling 300-320 WHP, but some owners have driveline problems even when bone stock, so a lot depends on how you drive the car.
If you really want to have some fun, and make your car both faster and safer, you might want to consider an Evolution or other performance driving school. I've been autocrossing for decades and I still get a little faster every time I attend one of the Evlolution schools.
If you're not already bored with the stock power level I really think you'll get more bang for your buck if you buy some schooling and track time. When that gets too easy
you can add a Comptech SC/AC for $5k or less (and it's an easy install that you can probably do yourself).

Let me point out the major flaws of your statement.
1. Your statement proves nothing b/c the other driver may have been horrible driver(regardless of what a few other owners have as times with the same setup).
2. the setup the guy had was BASIC. Read that one more time. No dyno tuning, no upgraded fuel system, no upgraded fuel management.
Granted, turbo setups are faster, give the other guy a similar setup and then come here to boost your ego.

I'm probably just gonna go with a comptech.
