Crank Play :(
I have over 35k on my old ACT clutch without a glitch . Also my clutch switch is not jumped . The only reason why ACT decided to update the clutch was because people were pointing the finger at them and making FOOLISH accusations . From what i understand the newer clutch feels almost exactly the same as the old one . And so people know there have been crankwalk issues on oe clutches .
I have an act clutch in mine and I've had everything that could happen, happen to my engines..... except crankwalk. I left that back with my DSM days. I don't believe the bad rap that act is getting... or maybe that's denial
All clutches with a stiff pressure plate will do the same thing. It also has alot to do with the way you drive. If you sit at a stoplight with your foot on the clutch your grinding the crank into the thrust washer and this will cause it to fail.
I think the updated one has come out over 3+ years ago. But I'm glad you don't have any issues. Good for you. Doesn't seem like I'm one of the lucky survivors.
So just a coincidence that everyone that has this issued has had an act clutch? Coincidence that ACT came out with an updated pressure plate to resolve this COMMON issue? FYI I've read about others with this problem non boosted as well when I first joined the s2ki forums.
Didn't have time yesterday to work on the car, was too busy working on the new house instead. If LJ has other projects he's working on of his today I'll stop by to dink with my car.

The fact is that most of these motors burn oil and its not hard to get oil starvation, as long as there are no OILING problems there will be no damage regardless of the clutch. Do you really think the force of your foot is anything compared to the forces that are already going on inside an engine..?
Never have ran low on oil. I check everytime I fill up the car. I change the oil quite often in the summer months. Didn't get the chance to pull the pan today. Hopefully this week sometime I can get out to the shop
