Default Crankshaft key question

Hey guys quick question just to make sure I'm currently in the process of reassembling my motor and have a question about te crankshaft key. With the key fully inserted with the beveled side faced down on the crank it still protrudes slightly past the crank snout. It can't go in any further and the crank gears are engaged. I just wanted to absolutely make sure everything correct. It dosent interfere with the crank pulley bolt at all cause like I said it just barely sticks ou past the snout.
