yo devs, did you ever get a new motor? where did you get one from? i'm having trouble locating one.

I just looked in the for sale forums, ebay, and local yards. It's just hard in my case since the easiest thing to do would be to find a complete MY06 motor and just drop it in.
I haven't decided if I am building the motor yet or using a stock motor + HG, and that has been part of the delay.
such a shame. i've been checking up on all the engine shops around the country that i know of and nobody has an f22c. i've found a few f20's but they are insanely overpriced. i can only imagine how much harder it must be to find an DBW motor.

those two guys usually buy salvaged S2000s and part out the motor tranny parts; they may have an F22c laying around
so no chance you will build the bottom end?
i will be going with a stock motor again, no question about it. i cannot afford to build another motor. from what i understand there is no way to reinforce this area of the motor. in terms of the compression situation, ive been told that using 9:1 pistons does not help performance over the 3mm head gasket. i'd rather blow the headgasket due to overboosting than blow the motor!
as far as what clutch i'm going to do - i still dont know. i need to do more research. i'd really prefer not to go with a puck type clutch disc but it seems im going to have to.
as for my next setup?? i might just go back to stock. i have no idea.

If that block is salvagable, parts are parts (and honda's are not cheap, new). If you block is scored, its scored (so machining is necessary, why not just sleeve it?). If its good, you just need some pistons that work with FRM cylinder walls (I think Golden Eagle has some)... Regular low-compression pistons will chew the block up with time.
Sucks man. I am picking my baby up either tomorrow or friday (rod bearings, due to blown HG...).

Price a OEM short block.. You may be surprised what the cost vs value is.
in the used market i'd rather not just buy a block either - who knows why it was taken apart in the first place.
i have a couple of leads but im still not sure just yet. i guess i will keep seraching!
and for the guy who asked earlier - i made about 300tq to the wheels.
The last time I checked the AP1 shortblocks (assembled bottom end) could be had wholesale for under 2500$.. I'm surprised they charge more for the AP2.
The machine shops in my local area can't hold the tolerances Honda can. If I even need to replace the shortblock in car I'll be going OEM Honda.
