you have to partially disassemble the supercharger setup i think.. and it isn't as simple as drop in and run.. depending on how much boost the new pulley will be producing, your friend may also want a new tune, larger injectors, and some sort of standalone engine management.

an air compressor and gun does the trick!, Simply hold the pulley in place with your hand, or towel etc, and take the gun to it. No superchager dissasembaly needed. I just did this 2 weeks ago.

(the supercharger was out of the car though) I have heard you can do it, while installed in the car though, maybe those people that have done it can chime in

What I do, I take out the air box, hold the nut on the front side of the Supercharger with a 14mm adjustable head 12 point wrench. Then I use a 14mm to break the bolt holding the pulley on. After that I loosen the tensioner and remove the belt. Then I loosen all the mounting bolts and pull the supercharger towards me and slide the pulley off. With the stock pulley, you will probably have to have someone loosening the tensioner on the serpentine belt for the alternator, water pump, etc, to slide the pulley off. I also unclamp the aftercooler from the throttle body, as it helps to get a little more room.

It only takes me about 20 minutes or so to change pulleys.

Good luck, if you have any questions, shoot me a PM.

I pulled off my supercharged and hit it with an impact wrench...I can't see how you would do it with the supercharger on the car. Impressive.

Really? Most people go through all the trouble to unbolt the whole supercharger and take it out of the car to replace the pulley?

I can't speak for most people. I know I did. I didn't do any research prior to changing my pulley...I was just surprised to see that it could be done without unbolting the supercharger.

I second that. Took me about 45 minutes though.
