CTSC and traction
With CTSC, 4.57's, HD pressure plate, & stock suspension, I had moderate but controllable wheel spin between 1st & 2nd for temps warmer than 70 degrees, going straight. I had to be fairly careful exiting corners with throttle.
1st to 2nd & 2nd to 3rd were a wild freak show in colder temps, typically below 35.
Modding the suspension elminated all traction issues in normal temps (with warmed up tires) and reduced cold temp driving to controllable wheel spin 1st to 2nd; every where else is ok.
Because I changed everything at once, I do not know which area helped, but I'm guessing they all may have helped in some way:
1. Wider wheels and tires, still staggered.
2. Ditched the RE050's; the BFG G-Force dry seem much better in the cold. And I rarely drive in the rain. But they discontinued this tire.
3. Koni adjustable shocks, set 1 click less than full firm in front and 1 less than full soft in back. The idea being to reduce oversteer and allow the back to squat a little more under acceleration.
4. Comptech sway bars. No idea if this helped.
5. 1 degree camber in front & 2.2 in back. No idea if this helped.
Overall the car handles much better than stock (for me) and has no more straight line traction issues; just a nice chirp between gears.
Time is definitely saved by not having to finesse the throttle in the lower gears or deal with spin. I can just mash it and go. And I really have to work to induce oversteer, which is what I wanted.
As much as I want a lot more power (and will likely get it eventually), I know I'll miss being able to drive like this.

I have vortech on stock boost w/ the stock 4.1's so might be too relevant but i only lose traction if im gunning it in 1st,2nd or 3rd when its raining or tires are cold otherwise i dont lose traction.
You don't "gun it" when its raining and shouldn't when your tires are cold

Like Visser said, coming out of corners, I am more cautious.
