Thanks so much for this write-up. Also, thanks to all who previously contributed their knowledge.

Wondering if we could find this TPV8 in the Staes cheaper than the one sold by Fuelsafe (almost $200!).

You could try contacting BAT inc. out of Florida. They’re a US importer and distributor of Mocal products. I’ve ordered a few different things from them; they’re very friendly and knowledgeable. I don’t see the valve listed on their site, but I’m sure they can get it for you as others have reportedly gotten this valve there.

If you can buy through them I’ll update the thread instead of pointing people to the UK supplier. But so far that was the cheapest I’ve found it and the shipping was relatively quick via Royal Air Mail.

Thanks Kyle, I just went ahead and ordered from the UK supplier you provided. I’m not in a hurry and their price was so much cheaper. I’ll update when I get the part to let others know how long it takes.

You nailed that man.

I have been paying for the gold member perks and it states you will get an S2ki shirt and not once have I received mine. Hell, I even emailed the admin about it and never heard anything back. I think they are only in it for the money now.

I've done several days of searching and did not find this thread until another member linked it. So I guess bump for the great help!
I'll be clamping off the hoses and adding your valve as suggested so the car can easily be returned to stock.

Ordered mine for $89 shipped from UK: https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p...push-on-m-tpv8

I've never messed with any of the evap stuff before. Thanks for the write-up.

Out of curiosity what do the removed components weigh?

Can you post pictures when you cap off these hoses? I also need a way to go back to stock for emissions testing and don’t want to rip out the whole Evap systems. Thanks!

To circumvent the entirety of the system all you'd need to do is remove the fuel tank vent hose from the 2 way vent solenoid (it's the only hose held on with a spring clamp vs the skinny clips) and put the valve on the end of that. Also remove the breather hose from the charcoal canister (The one that's a squeeze-lock fitting on a plastic corrugated hose) Both hoses are pictured in my DIY so you can see what they look like. Here's a pic(s) of where you'll be removing both lines:

Cap the solenoid nipple with a 1/4" vacuum cap, the one on the charcoal canister is roughly a .600 OD, I'm sure a 1/2 or 5/8 cap will fit. I'd go 1/2" for a snug fit. Leave the breather hose open or put a filter on the end of it.
