Does the EMs use the sotck knock sensor?

it reads voltage from it, but you don't need to use it when you setup your tune

The AEM EMS uses it. The stock knock sensor is always a nice safegaurd. Some tuners don't like using it, but I like to use it just in case I get bad gas or whatever.

Monitoring knock volts is always a good idea. With AEM, you can adjust the sensitivity with which voltage changes will cause corresponding changes in accordance with other specific parameters.

Yep...Knock control is good stuff. The software provides very nice visual interpretations of what all measurable metrics are doing at any given time. Good stuff...
