I'm running the Greddy TypeS bov, and it sounds similar to that (kinda like air brakes). However, I don't have the hiccup sound that you're getting. Is that hiccupping what you're describing?

Thats how mine sounded when I first got the car back from my installer. I took it to have it dynoed only to find out it was hooked up wrong. Check your vacuum lines again. The inlinepro should sound like one steady whoosh of air not broken up like that.

Definitely surge. If you loosen the blow off valve (twist it out a turn or two) if will apply less spring force on the valve, allowing the unit to open at a high manifold pressure (aka sooner). If I run mine full-tight (all the way in), I can create it, particularly on the highway in 5th or sixth gear. After building 5-10 psi of boost pressure and then slowly backing off the the throttle, its like a turkey call in the engine bay. It's not going to hurt the turbo if it happens occasionally, but its not good in the long run. If I adjust the BOV out two or three turns, the surge is eliminated. I'd highly recommend it for daily driving. Instead of the turkey call, you'll hear the hissing of air exiting the BOV.

Sorry Fury, don't mean to jack your thread, but I have the EXACT same sound coming from my HKS SQV BOV and I've tried everything, but it won't "vent" properly (meaning I get that damn turkey call everytime I let off the gas over 7-8K rpm). I've loosed the spring as far as it will go, I've re-run the vac lines and it still makes the noise. The BOV is operating b/c at idle and slight throttle, I can feel air coming out of the BOV... So that tells me the diaphragm is working. The turkey call only occurs when I get on it and let off the throttle around 7000-8000 rpm. Also, I'm running the Spugen Turbo (turbonetics 60-1) at 10 psi. Can anyone help? Thanks a ton-
