Guys,

Im due to install a Comptech SC kit (AC running 6.5psi boost), at this moment in time i run a tracysports TS-02 header, testpipe and T1r V2 63, i get drone at the dreaded 3-4k rpm rev range fine below or above this.

Would fitting an SC reduce the drone or remove the drone, due to the exhaust gases?

I also might try a resonated Testpipe as i run a straight T1R one - maybe help?

Nope and resonated TP wont help. Best way to reduce it is a new exhaust thats known for little drone like ASM, Mugen, etc.

 

I have no drone and run a Tanabe concept G cat back. Its a dual 60mm which is stock sizing. And I also run a res TP (which i'm sure does something to affect the tone, if not the drone)I run a stock header also. Its loud when you get on it up top with the extra velocity the SC creates, but the sound quality is so sweet, I get complimented on it all the time. Sounds like the S should INMO. Its a very high $$$ tone, not like a big resonating fart can

My invidia w/ test pipe is louder with the Comptech SC then an NA S. The don't know if the drone is worse but it definitely is not better. My ears bleed at WOT.

 

Ha...similar setup. Invidia 70mm single...I had a mid pipe Magnaflow muffler welded in cuz it was annoying the hell out of me. It helped.
