There is no harm in retarding the timing more, if you feel the car needs it then do it.

 

You should pull out way more than that....You should pull out until you hear no detnation. You can pull out as much as 12 degrees if needed. To much retard will raise egt's and to little will have detonation

 

ok........I'm going to pull some more timing out today and I will let you guys know the result.

How are you detecting the detonation and pinging? Are you just hearing it or do you have some kind of monitor to detect it?

 

I can hear the detonation b4.......I wish I have a monitor for it tho.

 

What exactly does detonation and pinging sound like? Is it hard to hear it when you reving high?

 

Can anyone answer this question for me?

instead of just retarding your timing cant you do both decrease timing and also at the same time add fuel.... this way you wont have to retard that much........

beroznikmal, that is what I want to know. If you can do both add fuel and retard timing at the same time, than some serious HP will come out from a {NO2} S2000.
