Default Emissions with EMS?

How do you guys pass emissions with EMS? I live in Illinois and you just cant throw any codes to pass. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that you cant scan for codes if you have an EMS.

Anyways around this. Is it a possibility to register the car as a show car and just be limited on the miles per year one can do?

I have an emange blue for my turbo kit but I am not sure I want to go that route anymore. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Martin

you 'could' reinstall your stock ecu... and drive really slowly for a week so the ecu could check the function of the cat and all emissions devices...

The ems makes the ODB2 port not work... so the emissions computer can't scan the car.... other than that... maybe find a private shop?

The AEM EMS will disable the ODB2, as it replaces your ECU. Keep the emanage blue for emission testing AND be prepared to re-configure your setup (lower boost, injectors, etc). You will need to retest every two years.

If you don't know someone who can fudge it then you will have to remove the EMS, put back in your stock ECU, injectors, cat, airpump, etc. and drive with your car for a few cycles so that the computer can log it. It can be a really big PITA, and by me you have to do it once a year.

This is going to be a pain! I am also thinking of getting a head gasket and I heard it will throw a cel on stock ecu. I have no idea what to do.

Has anybody been running safely on the emanage?
