Default EMS & Vortech

Ok, so I just finished installing the Vortech and it runs great. For now I'm happy w/ stock boost and don't plan on doing smaller pulley and injectors until much later. How much more power can I get by ditching the FMU, timing box, and MAP controller and going ems? Would it be more practical to keep things the way they are? Would the ems gains be worth it at this point?

Most EMS equipped vortech's at 9psi run 330-350 whp. Most of the same people with an EMS and more boost also have ported cylinder heads which can be a pretty dramatic gain when coupled with more boost. Sub 400whp is possible, with some of the higher boost applications. 15psi is the practical limit of belt slippage with the Vortech belt drive.

When I did my install I didn't even consider installing the Vortech electronics. I installed the AEM EMS at the same time and have never looked back. The engine runs stronger than most and I have the peace of mind that comes with absolutely no pre-ignition. IMHO the EMS is the only way to go when boosting by any means.

That's so true sideways. But in our area, we dont have any EMS tuners. Is slapping on the base map provided by AEM good enough for just a completely stock S2000 with a completely stock Vortech minus the parts not needed because of EMS?
