Feedback on ACT Sprung 6 Pad Clutch Disc
I am planning to go turbo on a 500+ whp. I already have a brand new hardopguy's clutch kit (Act perssure plate with stock disc) ready to be installed but from what i read it won't hold that power. My questions?
1) Will hardtopguy's clutch kit hold this power or not?
2) If not i am thinking to keep Act pressure plate and put an ACT Sprung 6 Pad Clutch Disc. What is your feedback with this kit ? (Pedal feeling, clutch buzz, hard on traffic etc)?
Thank you in advance
Chris

clutch holding power is measured in TQ, not HP..
ACT HD kit w/ ACT Disc is rated at 383 lb.-ft., ACT underrates their numbers too. So you should be good to 410 tq or so
The 6 puck has a rated TQ capacity of 490 lb ft
All ACT clutches have a stiff pedal, you get used to it quick though.

I have had a 6 puck for almost 20K miles now.... Its really solid. The biggest "feeling" difference is the non- continuous disc surface. Really only during first gear engagement you can get a lot of chatter if your slow on the clutch. More effort than stock to drive through rush hour traffic. Mine is setup to be fully engaged after about 1/2" of pedal push so shifting is fast. My buzz was eliminated, but a buddy has one and he still has the buzz, so little conclusion there.
However, mine is pared with fidanza aluminum so that makes a little more exaggerated.

i have the old style ACT PP and a brand new 6 puck sprung disc. traffic does kind of suck because engagement is not as smooth as a full face disc, but once you're out of traffic it's fine.
my car made 300wtq and it doesn't slip at all.
