Looks like they didn't get penetration and it started cracking at the joint before jumping to the HAZ. Good luck!

I'm just going to get it welded locally.

 

Honestly i wouldnt bother reusing that old piece. From the looks of it the metal has begun to break down already. Even if you weld it back up, the weld will be the strongest point and it will break again right next to the weld. I would try to get a new flange and get it welded on.

 

Already got it welded. Came out great. If it breaks again I will get a new piece.

 

Definitely keep an eye on it.

I wouldn't expect it to last long... but you never know, maybe it will hold up.

 

What would make it last long ?

 

Got my waste gate fixed for free under warranty by tial. I went to have my tune adjusted yesterday. It was set at 13psi. Last night I did a 4th gear pull and it hit 20 psi at around 7500. What can be the issue? It was fine on the dyno the boost maybe creeped to 15 in higher gears.
