I thought that would be the outcome.

What does your oil pressure look like in VTEC?

I'm still wondering if it's the manifold and too much back pressure. Are you using the UR manifold? I can't remember.
I don't know what the oil pressure in VTEC was, but I overheard the mechanics talking to each other saying the the oil pressure was good and holding?

I am using the UR manifold, yes.

yesterday I ran the car a bit, not much time in vtec, becasue I have bald tires and it was rainig a bit, but a 5000 rpm oil pressure was 80 psi constantly and ilde 25 psi

I took out the oil cooler. to get mo0re pressure, once I got tires will do some full runs

And see, I don't think oil pressure is my problem, which is why I didn't really think the sandwich plate was going to make a difference. Looks like I have to take the kit off, run NA and see if it VTEC's properly, and just go from there.

In VTEC, my oil pressure is around 65 psi all the way to redline. Better than before when it was around 58 psi after VTEC. Around 75-80 psi before VTEC with 10w40 oil also.

So I have 2 options

Check the vtec selenoid
Open de Head and check for the pins

is necessary a Honda mechadic to do this, I do not trust Honda Spain, they left the sparks loose, the oil filter also, They could not install the stock hoses after I pull off the SC.... a friend of mine lost 20 hp after Vtec valve adjustment.....

So strange. I was told that my oil pressure is solid. In a weird way, I guess I'm glad it's not JUST me having this problem.

fperra, i would HOPE that my mechanic checked something as simple as that, but i guess I should ask to make sure it's not that.

I am in the process of gettin an OEM header to see if I can still VTEC properly NA.

Well, I contacted my mechanic about the VTEC solenoid filter screen. he said the filter was fine.

Onward towards testing VTEC non-boosted. I REALLY hope it works fine, that would mean my engine is a-ok.
