Spoolin, what are you talking about 12's is not safe.
Before you respond to this comment just think, you don't know his AIT, his cooling mods, his timing curve, his altitude.
Also before you make a comment you and I both know the mathematical formula for peak torque combustion lands a A/F value in the low 12's.
So if the car had a proper cooling system, good timing curve, good fuel and fueling set-up, the 12 is ideal for power and safty as it would lead to ideal combustion and lower EGT's.
I would not jump on your comment if he had posted his entire set-up and he was running a small turbo out of its efficiency, or a small intercooler, or had a bad fueling set-up, or was high on the duty cycle of his injectors
THEN: like you I would chime in and say hey, maybe dump some extra fuel in there to make up for your _________ in your set-up.
To say running a 12 A/F ratio is dangerous by itself sounds like someone who has listened to to much rumor on the honda-tech boards.
I respect your comments spoolin because you usually have great one's to say, but this one seems a little shallow. Hope I am not steping on your toe's spoolin but I don't want some of our other S2000 members to be reading in to your comment like its a post on honda-tech thinking a 12 a/f value is "BAD" and "DANGEROUS".......................you follow?

Sure 12s will work, but it is not a safe tune.
One minor spike and you are fukd

I hear you guys, and to be honest, when I tune people's cars other then my own I will often put them in the 11's as well, because I don't know how the person takes care of there car, or if they always fill up at a known gas station, or if they watch there AIT levels....blah blah blah blah..
So I agree I am right there with your tuners and will put a car in the 11's, unless they tell me others wise.
But for my own cars or for customers who I know takes care if his car, I WILL TUNE IT FOR IDEAL COMBUSTION which occurs at 12.4 A/F
So to sum it up. I agree with tuners tuning to 11's for all the SUPER SAFE people and for all the boneheads that abuse there cars, but to say that 12's A/F value's are dangerous is horse S__T.
Just wanted to clear up the confusion:

PS
TRY TO BUY AND READ This book if you are at all interested in learning more on the subject of tuning. This has been the easiest and most informed book on EFI tuning that I have come across in my library of books on the subject. It was a gift to me four years ago, and I have come a long way since, but still look back at this book from time to time, and I loan it out to anyone that asks me basic questions on tuning.

Nice!
I was watching Mase tune an s2k with a GT30 running 16psi this past weekend. He got to 480whp (DynoDynamics) on 93 with a stock motor (no gasket and 125K on the motor
). 507whp on race gas.
A good tuner makes all the difference.
