I'm a little confused as to why everyone thinks that a FMIC will "drop" the boost pressure. At a certain RPM, the blower will output X amount of air, which will create Y amount of boost pressure. Add a few restrictions to the intake tract like a FMIC or the stock aftercooler, and the boost pressure will stay the same on the downstream side of the new device. Of course, the pressure upstream of the device will be higher than it was before, hindering the performance of the blower, but there is no "loss" of boost pressure. If anything, the intake pressure will rise. Just ranting...

I dont have the answer yet, but before tackling this project I did a search and realized that guys who went with 2.5" -3" piping had from 1-2lbs of boost loss. Which is why I decided to go with 2.25" piping. Again, the dyno crapped out of our dyno day so I wont know until maybe the end of this week how much gains did that FMIC give me or if I had any boost loss.

pushin9, the pictures are not working cause the links were all broken when I switched them to a different folder. It should be nothing different then what you already did, since your car should be running by now right?

while that all makes sense, and I agree, people have reported less PSI after an Aftercooler install on the comptech, reading PSI on a gauge before and after. thats just how it is.

Dame...you went with 3" piping? Your brave man. Are you running the Greddy Type RS? I originally wanted to go with that one but the spring on it was so dame stiff I was afraid the 7lbs couldnt even lifted it. I know you are running higher boost but how does it sound under 5k? Can you hear it with the top up? Now thinking about it.....I guess thats a dumb question. I just remembered you are running dual 3" exhaust.

The piping is 2.75"

Yes that is the Greddy Type RS ... Right now I am not happy with it.

Right now my information is very limited until I get on the dyno again. I should be on the dyno this week then I will have all the info you need!

I'm glad I didnt stick with it then. Let me guess, its not blowing out loud enough in high RPM's and you can barely even hear it in low RPMs? Your running 9lbs right?

FMIC looks nice. Good job.

But it seems like your priority here is getting the loudest noise from your BOV and not increasing power output. Little bit of a ricer.
