if money is not an Option. GO FULL-RACE

If you want to TRACK your Car Get a S/C...... SOS, Comptech, Vortech

Regardless of getting any of these your gonna have to buy an Engine management and Injectors to make more then 300whp. So if money isn't an option just go ahead and start rebuilding your motor and order a Full-race kit and be happy :-)

HPDE or TT/Racing? MP62 is probably your best bet with your overall needs, but if money is no object, you can go Full Race or Inline Pro.

Just turn down the boost with turbos on the road course and watch your temps.

I believed the myth that a supercharger is better for road racing for a while, but the more I thought about it the less I believe it. I have yet to find a real advantage for the supercharger and I would reverse this and proclaim that a turbo is much better. Reliability is a relative term and regardless of who's kit you by will be less than the N/A stock version on the S2000.

My best advice is to buy a kit with plenty of room to build on, a manufacturer that stands behind their product and can easily answer questions and finally make sure that you do your homework first.

Just my opinion but if I had it to do again I would have installed an IP BB Turbo kit.

I would try it out before you come to your conclusions, or do a little more research, everything melts under the hood of a turbocharged road racing s2000, oil temps out of the roof, water temps, melted plastic master cylinders for brakes and clutch etc. Makes it hard to be competitive or have much fun and I would consider this a reliability issue.

Besides the power characteristics.... A centrifugal SC like the VT/ CT for example can have quite an explosive top end 400+ for pulling straits much like a nice size turbo but lower more manageable trq curve for finessing the corners easily, not fighting them with 300+ trq that lags and hits coming on hard early or when you get in a little hot and let off and get on again and have lag, makes it a handful compared to a belt driven system that is always responding to your foot. If a fatter trq curve is what is desired they make a KW, and if you want to take it to the next level beyond that there is a roots type SC. Turbos are great for a street/drag car.
even with vented hood, radiator, thermostat and an air duct on front bumper that routes inside engine bay?

Like peeing on a bonfire Its been done with mediocre results, many have and are still trying to pull it off because they are hell bent on their turbo way of life, just sounds like allot of money and frustration to me compared to some of the alternative FI examples out there that are proven to be much less headaches that's all... and as an experienced "spirited" driver I feel the SC in an s2000 is just less effort to drive fast.

he is totally right. tthere have been many who tried it in our cars and have failed after a lot of time and money spent. Get any of the SC kits and go have some fun. Id personally eitehr go with Kraftwerks if u want high top end but sitll with better tq than the comptech or vortech....OR the StaticX Roots SC kit. instant tq and you prob can get that blower with supporting mods to put out around 375whp?

Living in california, and having been around turbo cars on road courses for years, I'd go with the vortech. Partly because I would need my car to be smog friendly, and partly because it takes way too much work than I would want to deal with to keep a turbo car cool on a road course. It's not impossible, but it's one of those things that owners spend years trying to perfect, and still end up making compromises.

If I didnt live in california, didnt have to smog my car, and didnt care about the amount of work involved in keeping a turbo car cool on the road course, the answer would be full race or inline pro. There's nothing that compares to a well done turbo setup. Nothing.
