if you will notice that most of the time attack S2000's went turbo. even the 1 company that was all about all motor went turbo. yes im talking about Spoon sports. Turbo has done pretty well for road racing. a long time ago BMW F1 team were using a turbo 4cyl. and they dominated the series when they had that set up. they were able to mash the throttle before the apex to get the turbo spooling and all hell breaks loose when they come out of the corner

Like peeing on a bonfire Its been done with mediocre results, many have and are still trying to pull it off because they are hell bent on their turbo way of life, just sounds like allot of money and frustration to me compared to some of the alternative FI examples out there that are proven to be much less headaches that's all... and as an experienced "spirited" driver I feel the SC in an s2000 is just less effort to drive fast.
if you just mash it for 9 to 10 seconds at a time, it has no problem with over heating at all

I would try it out before you come to your conclusions, or do a little more research, everything melts under the hood of a turbocharged road racing s2000, oil temps out of the roof, water temps, melted plastic master cylinders for brakes and clutch etc. Makes it hard to be competitive or have much fun and I would consider this a reliability issue.

Besides the power characteristics.... A centrifugal SC like the VT/ CT for example can have quite an explosive top end 400+ for pulling straits much like a nice size turbo but lower more manageable trq curve for finessing the corners easily, not fighting them with 300+ trq that lags and hits coming on hard early or when you get in a little hot and let off and get on again and have lag, makes it a handful compared to a belt driven system that is always responding to your foot. If a fatter trq curve is what is desired they make a KW, and if you want to take it to the next level beyond that there is a roots type SC. Turbos are great for a street/drag car.
true.......

he is totally right. tthere have been many who tried it in our cars and have failed after a lot of time and money spent. Get any of the SC kits and go have some fun. Id personally eitehr go with Kraftwerks if u want high top end but sitll with better tq than the comptech or vortech....OR the StaticX Roots SC kit. instant tq and you prob can get that blower with supporting mods to put out around 375whp?
based on this opinion.... and many more that are seeing my needs for track use.. Yes I live in Southern Cali, so Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, Cali Speedway, Laguna Seca, and many more are my stomping grounds...

Although "Sellout"s comment regarding the best or properly done turbo setup is true to everything motorsport, were a perfectly executed combination will dominate....

But time, money and support can dwindle, and could end in a drastic result... So so far it's 75% likely I'm going SC, and after talking to many SC owners personally over the years COMPTECH will be the choice at 65% so far, haven't talk to anyone personally on the STATIC X kit yet... so will see...

Go the custom route and have a nice sidewinder style mani built with a 3076r that will spool fast and produce serious hp and great torque in the low and mid range.

and i bet if the guy used turbo he would be even faster. the bad thing about SC is that you are limited to what you can do. lets say you wanted to be at 9psi at 3500 rpm's you cant do that with a SC. turbo you can do that all day long. plus with a turbo your torque is usually higher and more consistent

if you have a positive displacement blower like the m62 Eaton setup you can make high levels of boost at rpms like 3k. Personally if i was looking for 300-375 horsepower i'd be all over one of those setup due to the instantaneous boost response, flat torque curve and addicting banshee scream of the blower.

Yeah yeah, except Eaton blowers sound like crap and pump some ridiculous hot air. Someone needs to make a twin screw setup for the S2K if positive displacement is ever going to really be taken seriously for something other than a V8.
