S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Found a good solution for rebuilds

It's there, just smaller and to the left. I assume there was a site update, but they should go to the emoji's instead..

Found it after I posted that. And you think I would know that being a moderator, but to be fair, I only moderate one section

I'm the one that started millenium with plating F series engines, and i believe im still the only one they've done it for. There's more details to it then just sending them your block and saying "have at it"
Most of the time the cylinder needs be bored before plating...if it doesnt, find a block with crappy cylinders and have it plated and save the good one. If you need to retain 87mm size, then it will be bored large enough for an aluminum sleeve to be installed and then it will be plated.

The actual pricing is closer to $2k retail as you need to account for boring and honing. I keep a torque plate at their facility for the engines I have plated so it is as perfect as it can be.
My pricing is a bit better than what is posted on their site. If you are interested in having the service done you can PM me.

What’s the track record for the F2x series engines you have been involved with having coated or bored and coated?

I haven't had any failures due to the plating after the motors were assembled. There were some growing pains figuring out the plating process...I've got 2 blocks in my graveyard from it.
We spin our F25 to 9k in a road course application. The test mule is still going strong. We had 21 track days and hours upon hours on the dyno this past year alone.

What pistons are run along with the plating by Millenium? Is there a special piston that's required and are you running an overbore like .5mm? Very interesting!

Nothing special about the piston other than the silicon content. No coating is needed. The only downside to plating vs a steel sleeve is that if you do have some issue and it damaged the bores, it must be replated. With a steel sleeve you just bore it out a little more and put bigger pistons in it.

On the earlier engines I used pretty normal components, but plating is kind of on the more expensive/exotic side of the spectrum and people want the components to match.

I currently produce the engines for Urge so their components are mainly what is offered, unless the end user has a specific use case that has different needs.

Urge???

About a year or more ago I approached them, asked if they'd do Millennium coated cylinder based rebuilds. They said no, his engine builder said iron sleeves are superior. We had this whole back and forth on it, but he was adamant.

I can't speak to that. I started working with Urge a little over a year ago on the development of the engine that is currenly offered on his site.

The solid line is what was achieved with the street spec engine. The dotted line is higher compression. This dyno was a little while ago. We are currently sitting at 304/210. Development continues. Ill be back on the dyno on the 23rd.

I reached out to millenium a few days ago and asked if they bore the frm liner out before plating or plate over the liner, and they said "we plate the liners while in the block."
I also asked about piston rings and they said " use the oem rings, but any rings will do."

Any thoughts on this? I was going to do it to experiment. @Charper732
