is it necessary to remove the rear tray? also, is it easier to remove from the inside or through the trunk?

The fuel pump won't fit unless you move it.

I removed mine from the trunk but I unhooked all the latches mostly from above.

im about to install a walbro 255 tonight, any tips? whats this i hear about using the stock sock?

It has to be rotated slightly to prevent the float from sticking on it. Before you put the assembly back in the tank make sure the float has full range of motion.

tips =
remove drivers seat
remove wind screen
i put top at about 1/2 up/down
you then can put one arm thru roll hoop and body and other arm we wind screen is
from there easy - pop out try, unscrew phillps screws, disconnect full lines (might want to crack fuel rail infeed loose to releasepressure)lectrical one 12mm and a bunch of 10mm - rotate fuel pump assemble up and out (i normaly put a towel down catch driping fuel)
install new pump and reverse install - 20-30 minutes!

for the s, i know i need to buy model #342, do i also need to buy an install kit or just the fuel pump?
