With 302whp at 7.8psi, I had no traction problems with my 245 Kumho's and 17" BBS RGR's and Ohlins coilovers. Get some new and bigger tires and you should be a lot better with traction.
How did your diff hold up? Im planning on making some power and like everyone else the diff is going to be a problem.

In my s/ced 05 with stock gearing when i shift at 8k to 2nd or 3rd my wheels break free and i lose traction. If i get 4.57s will this get worse and if so will better tires help.

I have an SC 04 with 4.57's and am planning on going back to my stock 4.1. I don't think that once you are over 400hp you should need it and not running at 5000rpm at 80 would be nice.

Of course they can. Lots of people have already done it. Take a look at the following gear calculator:
http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator
And check out the numbers for a stock AP1 and a stock AP2.
You will see that Honda has done a great job of gearing the AP2 right from the factory. Based on the available HP of a stock S2000, it is drag limited to about 150 mph top speed, at sea level, on level ground, no wind, standard temperature and pressure. The AP2 is geared to go about the same top speed as it is drag limited. Putting a higher gear ratio on an AP2 would reduce its real world top speed - something that not many owners are willing to do. "Gears" will still help an AP2 accelerate quicker but at a top speed sacrifice.
Now, if you put a blower on an AP2 with "gears", the tires will no longer be able to keep up with the power. On the other hand, if any owner wants to build strictly a drag racing S2000, then the proper gears, blower and tires would make it a very formidable car. But the rest of the world of AP2 owners really don't want a car that has a top speed of 125 mph (I'm guessing here on the ideal geared top speed to best cover the 1/4 mile) and a highway cruising rpm that would numb their brains.
