goin emanage
Save up some more money brother. There trying to help you. Going cheap on the most important part is asking for big trouble. If you can't afford a decent ems, how are you gonna pay for a new motor?
First, I am too lazy to link but there is an Emanage 101 thread here somewhere that has a lot of useful information. Find it with the search and study it.
Make sure your jumpers are set correctly from the thread, the information in that thread is correct, you may find bad jumper settings elsewhere. You can use your PLX wideband to tune the fuel, but you need to do a conversion table to get it to work right. PLX sells an output harness and you send one wire into the (at least on my setup) Boomslang harness, capping the output from the ECU side and letting the PLX provide the signal. Which wire? I'd have to look. Secondly, buy the Greddy pressure sensor to measure boost instead of having it read off of the stock map because the stock map sensor is crap.
The EManage can work very well, but you won't find a lot of information here because most here don't use it. I have a very good map, but it was done by someone else who knows emanage, and not me. I have a very base understanding of tuning, and nothing more.
If you have the Emanage and a boomslang I might be able to help with a basemap, but it will only work with the greddy pressure sensor and with the PLX hooked up correctly, and if you don't have that you will screw up your car. And quite frankly, I am a little skeptical.

yea ive been reading the emu 101 thread but the setup is dated and the latest version differs im ordering the optional harness to hook up plx. looking into local tuning but not alot of people willing to work with it i will be messing around with it next week, car runs i just havent tried driving it till i understand the maps and there functions how to adjust them thanks for the input .
Duncan, you need to go through stuff systematically, you said you had belt slip and your body gauge was off and don't know what your fpr is set at. I'd also look on the internet about basic tuning principles too.
It can work because I tuned mine myself and successfully use an emu, but my knowledge is far more than basic.

Since when is kpro $3000? Like i said if you cant afford to do things right then dont do it. Your only gonna cause problems for yourself when you cheap out on something important and end up spending more in the long run. It is not that hard to swap injectors and ecu when it is time to do emissions. If you run an aem you can use all of your factory sensors.
E-manage is a good alternative if the tuner is familiar with it. Don't mind the other guys on here who bash it.
You will need a WinXP SP3 system to get it running JUST right. They also released an firmware update/fix for emanage to resolve all the previous hiccups, etc. You can download it from the trust-power site.
Alex @ http://granite-state-dyno.com/ knows them well and is a talented guy. So far he has been awesome with me.
Good Luck Bud.

the car runs with the emanage and base tune i tightened up belt and see 6 psi consistently its a used glow shift boost gauge, i don't keep a fuel pressure gauge on the car for fear of leak but last i checked 48 idle 65 static vacuum line disconnected 85-90 psi redline give or take a little knock sensor works good at cruising speed of 65mph ignition is 30 advance roll in to it and timing drops to 17 at redline i see 22-24 degrees does this seem safe? plugs look good not alot of aluminum balls just carbon light grey and light brown ceramic so im not in a super big hurry to get this on i just want to do it right. some screen shots of the maps i need to work with and some configuration info would be nice what is on the first page of the emu101 thread is dated and I'm using the latest software just a little different plus I'm trying to get an optional harness to hook up my plx wide band .I'm having trouble getting one i ordered one a month ago was told back order so i got a refund anyway that's where I'm at any help would be appreciated thanks.
