Default Greddy kit installed!

Hey all,

I finally had my Greddy turbo kit installed. I only had time to pop in to my mechanic and take her out for a quick spin to see how it was and I simply love it! It's exactly what I was looking for and then some. There was one small item that I did not like and im hoping you folks can help me identify what may be the problem here.....

During my drive I experienced a weird howling type sound which we diagnosed to be coming from the front passenger side. Does anyone know what this might be? We have double checked clamps, and couplers to ensure nothing was loose. I know turbo's make a swoosh type spooling sound and that was not it as I can still hear the turbo spooling when this howling sound occurs. It only seems to happen on decel, what gives?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like somthing is leaking air, the turbos do make some noise as they suck in air and spool. I would just check all your connections.

I have a Greddy EBC and have it set/tuned for 8psi. When I took the car out for a test drive and got on it, it stuck at 8psi. I would assume that I would be loosing pressure had I not be hitting 8psi?

Does the very loud sucking noise sound like a howl? This is going to sound funny but it actually sounds like an owl hooting

May just be the turbine. You may notice the same sound when cruising around 15mph.

It actually does make the sound on accel as well, just not as much. You are right though, as you mentioned it seems to do it at 15km on accel also, is this normal?

I think its normal, I freak out at every odd noise, but I wouldnt worry. I have a K & N in place of the AIRINX or whatever, sounds maybe a little louder? Either way I think your ok

If I blip the thottle when at a light it makes a howling......

It just sounds odd. I have had custom turbo set up's in other Honda's in the past and this is the first time I hear this weird noise. Im also surprised that of all the Greddy S owners out there, there doesn't look to be too much complaining going on?

I should also mention that I have also changed out the Greddy air filter for the K&N unit.
