i dumped the clutch moved about 3 inches herd the tires bark then the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz noise coasted off the road and pushed it into the shop. never tried another gear for fear of tearing something else out.

well upon closer inspection of the tripod it is broke just like in the pics above.........however the splines on the axle are not hurt in the least......got a replacement tripod on the way..........

just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the help cause otherwise i would have reinstalled the rear diff and had the same prob and then most likely dropped the trans and clutch for nothing so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
