Guess who finally got dynoed?!

heh, you're gonna put a lot of tuners out of business

To be honest I really want people to start understanding that tuning is not an art form, it's simpley math and science. There is no magic. What makes a good tuner stand out from a not so good one is that he understands more than just how to use the EMS software. Telling someone they need race gas for 15psi of boost on a built motor makes me think his tuner is on the not so good side.
This guy tunes on EMS, Hondata, Motec, and any other engine management. I really think he knows his stuff. He is a GA. Tech grad and one smart SOB. He knows that I daily drive my car and that it's 95+ degrees everyday here, so I am gonna go with his advice. Plus, I can hardly keep the tires stick to the ground at 11 psi, the high boost setting was too crazy for daily driving...but fun as hell
Did you check out his web page? dynotuner.net. He got 357 whp on a stock Lovefab S at 8psi. I think that is pretty good. To be honest, I've never had another tuner or even another turbo'd car, but I know this guy has been doing this for at least 20 years and an appt. takes a month to get with him. I figure if he is capable of tuning many different race series, he is quite capable of tuning my S.

Your tuner must know something because he did a darn good job on your air/fuel ratio, But be is dead wrong on how much boost you can run on pump gas. With your 9:1 compression ratio and 93 octane pump gas, you should be OK up to at least 17 psi, maybe higher. I've been running a little over 17 for a while now with no problems.
It's the dyno. HP is a calculation of TQ x engine RMP/5252. Some dynos require you to put in a gear ratio. If you don't have the exact ratio in there then the numbers will be off. I was just at a shop the other day and they had a WRX on the dyno. They didn't set a ratio and the car was making 340TQ and 56 HP

Nice, atleast some one is happy with LoveFab.
Check back in about 300 miles and tell us how it is!

Sorry you're having such problems with the kit, but that doesn't mean everyone is experiencing the same or feels the same just because of your problems.

My suggestion, get another tuner. Looking at your motor mods you should be cranking up the boost. I'm running a stock bottom end with a 2mm gasket and I'm running 14psi on 93oct. In a few weeks I'm dropping a built motor in my car (same as yours but with AEBS sleeves) and will be running 20psi on 93oct and 25-30psi on C16.
TQ looks great though

jbotstein1, have your tuner drop your timing to around 22 degrees at the max on the top end and you should be able to run more boost on 93 octane. You should be able to safely run at least 14 or 15 psi.
Isn't this correct with his setup fperra?
The tuner he's using is very well respected in the area, and will tune as conservative or agressive as you'd tell him too. He also does all the Motec work for the Turner motorsports Speedvison WC BMW's.
It's also not his first rodeo with a Turbo S2k. I'm betting he's reccomending the low boost # to stop jbotstein1 from coming back with broken pieces.
I'm also not sure if metro Atlanta is on oxygenated fuel all the time.
