does the ap1 and ap2 use the same head gasket?

Yes they do for future reference try www.cheaphondaparts.com and check the Pt#'s, however there are several instances where there are different numbers for interchangeable parts.

cool. i have an inline pro 3mm head gasket and was thinking about putting it on my 06. well decided after pricing the engine build lol. i have tried to search on the cam clocking and havent really found a good thread on it so far. any ideas?

thanks man i appreciate that. i dont know why i could find it. guess i dont know how to use the search engine. so basically you just knock out the dowl pin?

And clock the cogs whilst tightening it. It only moves about a degree.

Yep, knock it out and turn the inner gear. Once you finish it you will think to yourself " Is that all it moves? Was this actually worth the effort?" The answer is yes. lol.

lol that is true. ill change the title. so you are basically just taking out the slack? also are the f22's interference motors?

You are actually using the slack that is preexisting to adjust the cam where you want it when the pin is removed. The bolts hold it in place at the furthest point of "slack". Yes the f20/f22 is interference.
