Default head gasket and low compresion pistons
i am currently building my motor for turbo and im going to be using 9:1 but should i also use a 3mm head gasket?
just curious

Any reason why you're not going with HG only? A lot of people run them safely.

No. 9:1 is low enough for 25 psi of boost on race gas. Adding a 3mm HG will drop you down to about 7:1 with those pistons.

afwfjustin- dropped a valve so im building the engine if i had a choice i would go with just a different head gasket.

keeater- i kind of figured that but thanks for confirming

Nope, there is no need for it. You need some type of compression, and with a built bottom end on 9:1 compression you are good to go.

Ouch... yeah you're doing it "right" then. The 9:1 pistons will be plenty for you. Boost away
