Header question
Comptech claims that their header is best, but Im a true skeptic and can only be convinced a header makes power after back to back dyno plots of every parameter being the same. Hell, when I examine these things, I even measure the water temps in my aftercooler and IATs across the band and datalog them to get an apples to apples comparison then see where any gains or loss may factor in. If its anything less than 4-5, I say F it.
Maybe I can get my tuner to do a comparison for me, my buddy wants to trade me for his comptech. The car will be going into the shop over the winter/spring to get the smaller pulley installed and tuned. I can possibly do it at that time.
I'll be doing something similar now though. why not do a test fit and do a dyno pull? I'll be swapping out my DC header for a Spoon header and will most likely do a pull after to see if theres a difference before i decide i wanna keep it.
Can you elaborate more. What is small? The primaries? collector size? I know the comptech is a 4 to 1 but Im not familiar with the design of the toda. I'm still supporting the oem header just because it seems so well rounded and there isnt enough consensus on a good improvement for the money spent. And when you see headers that actually reduce performance, it’s not hard to just leave it alone.
